Monday, after school hours but before dinner; nearly time for the first rehearsal of A Midsummer Night's Dream (to be rehearsed in St Ex's Great Hall).

I'm staring at the cast list again. Even though I have read it several times since it went up at lunchtime, I am still amazed. I cannot believe who some of the parts went to!

I swear I nearly fainted. SYL THORN as Titania??? She can't play a queen, she's so common! I was so angry I could have cried. And I'm playing a boy. I'm sure they only put me as Puck because they wanted to cast Al as Oberon and so they couldn't have me playing his wife. Oh, I hate him!! Why couldn't he have got one of the lovers' parts instead?

I've had a few hours to calm down about it now, and I feel a bit better. I've read over Puck's parts, and I'll admit, his lines are funny. But still. Playing a boy's part. I suppose it's a bit like being in a pantomime... At least I have nice legs for the tights.

I glance at the clock. I suppose I'd better head over to St Ex's soon.
